The RD BAD-M2 Direct Thread is a next-generation Blast Attenuation Device (BAD) solution engineered for integration with the M2A1 and FN M2 QCB .50 caliber machine guns. Not to be confused with the RD M2FVS, this lightweight design is for extreme operational environments, this suppressor delivers advanced signature reduction, enhanced system performance, and full-auto durability—without requiring any permanent modification to the host weapon system.

Utilizing RD’s proprietary Breathable Technology®, the BAD significantly reduces toxic gas exposure, mitigates back pressure, and promotes stable cyclic operation during prolonged engagements. These features collectively enhance crew survivability, reduce operator fatigue, and help preserve weapon longevity under sustained fire conditions.

Constructed from a monolithic, corrosion-resistant body, the BAD-M2 incorporates an integrated flash hider to drastically reduce visual signature and ground disturbance—critical for dismounted troops, vehicle gunners, and airborne platforms operating in exposed or low-visibility conditions. The system is fully resistant to salt air, dust, and debris, and is finished in RD’s proprietary infrared-suppressive, non-reflective coating for improved camouflage across the IR spectrum.

This BAD is field-ready, low-maintenance, and operationally compatible with existing logistics and armorer workflows. It is ideal for vehicle-mounted weapon stations, remote weapon systems, and static defensive positions where signature suppression and platform reliability are mission-essential.
